U.S. Army: Concept
The U.S. Army team brought me in to help them define the why of Black soldiers.
“Black Excellence” is a widely used African American phrase. It is bellowed when the outstanding achievements of members of the community are on display.
But it is also a mindset defined by striving for progress for our community.
Through Black self-love and solidarity, we can become better versions of ourselves and uplift those who need help doing the same. Achieve and rise to positions where we can create opportunities for others. And in the process, all become exceptional, positive Black role models for the generations that follow.
We want to celebrate Black History Month by highlighting African American soldiers who uphold their community with their mentality, continuous actions and achievements every day. We’ll ask them what this mission means to them and how this mindset has empowered them to be all that they can be within their Army community.
The aim is to break down stereotypes and misconceptions, fostering a more accurate understanding of how African American soldiers find success and build community in the Army.
