Tecate: Campaign

The modern “Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao gave Tecate, the bout's sponsor, the opportunity to own the conversation around it. When they asked my creative director, partner and I to help them achieve that goal, we brought a winning tactic that made for reach far beyond those sitting near the ring.

Our insight? Before a fight, there is always one among fans about who will have his hand raised when the last round ends if not for a knockout.

Upon client feedback, the need to of course mention the flavor of their product, we wrote the social tag that would be seen by millions and used by many, MyBoldOpinion, that also made for coverage of the time during and the days after the contest.

With the truth packaged and responses to the tag received, we produced online videos with Sylvester Stallone and Larry Merchant to get their takes on the conversation we had inspired with the taste of a bottle of beer.
